Kiev has enough political will to launch strikes on targets located on Russian territory, said the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Alexei Danilov, as reported by RBC.

According to Danilov, Ukraine will be able to strike those facilities in Russia that pose a threat to Ukrainian territories.

He said in a telethon that no one would hesitate to sign orders to destroy facilities on Russian territory.

Meanwhile, Konstantin Gavrilov, the head of the Russian delegation, said yesterday in Vienna, where talks on military security and arms control took place that there would be serious consequences if Ukraine used American multiple-launch rocket systems or other NATO long-range weapons on Russian territory.

The Russian diplomat underlined that European countries were pushing Kiev to aggravate relations with Moscow, which might expand the zone of armed conflict. Furthermore, Gavrilov added that the Russian army would push Ukrainian nationalists away from the Russian border exactly to the distance that would ensure the security of Russian territory.

For his part, Dmitry Medvedev, deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, also said that Russia would retaliate. According to him, if American HIMARS missiles are used when shelling Russian territory, Moscow will have no choice but to hit the decision-making centers.

According to media reports, back in early July, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Yegor Chernev said that the use of US-supplied HIMARS missiles for strikes on facilities located on Russian territory could not be ruled out. However, he specified that “legitimate targets for Ukraine” would be Russian military facilities and aircraft in Russian airspace.

According to Izvestia, Paul Massaro, US Congressional Advisor on Security in Europe, issued a call to allow Kiev to shell military facilities not only in Russia, but also in Belarus. He wrote about it on Twitter, but later, as reported by RBC, the tweet was deleted.

As a reminder, in early June, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated, as reported by RBC, that the U.S. HIMARS missile defense systems supplied to Kiev would not be used to strike Russian territory, nor would he allow strikes on Russian territory. At the same time, Zelensky explained that Ukraine was only interested in its own country's territory, not Russia's. However, at the time, the Ukrainian president was not believed in the Kremlin on the grounds that Zelensky did not keep his promises.

As previously reported, back in early June, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said that Moscow had a negative attitude towards the fact that Washington was allocating a new aid package to Kiev. At the same time, he specified that any reasoning behind the military assistance being provided to Ukraine would not matter, and the arms supplies would only increase the risk of a direct clash between the U.S. and Russia.

Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that the active military assistance of Western and U.S. countries to Ukraine contributed to the fact that the geographic tasks of the special military operation to protect the LPR and DPR had changed. In his statement made on July 20, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that now it is not only about the liberation of the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, but also about a number of other Ukrainian territories.

According to Interfax, the day before, the Russian Air Force destroyed the temporary locations of two AFU brigades in Nikolaev that were located on the territory of a former reinforced concrete factory. Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov, an official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, specified that the enemy lost up to 200 nationalists and more than 20 pieces of special military equipment.

As Konashenkov said at the briefing, live ammunition and military equipment were hit in 142 areas. In addition, mercenaries that were temporarily stationed on the territory of the Ukrainian Energy Machines plant in Kharkiv were destroyed. An airstrike using high-precision weapons targeted warehouses near the village of Lyubimovka in Dnipropetrovsk region, where more than 100 missiles for American HIMARS rocket launchers were stored.

According to the media sources, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the Antonov bridge in Kherson with American HIMARS missiles. Traffic on the bridge was temporarily closed, said Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the civil-military administration of the Kherson region. Meanwhile, the bridge supports are not damaged, there are only holes in the road surface. Specialists specify that the bridge was built in Soviet times and has sufficient safety margin.

A day earlier, the Russian military, as reported by Konashenkov, destroyed eight arms depots in the Nikolaev Region and on DPR territory. In addition, on June 26, Kalibr missiles struck AFU training centers in Lviv, Zhytomyr and Chernihiv regions. As a result of the high-precision weaponry strike, several Ukrainian brigades completely lost their combat effectiveness.

As we can see, systematic strikes are carried out in Ukraine against depots with military equipment supplied by Western countries and the United States, mercenaries are destroyed in temporary locations, which leads to the fact that fewer and fewer “soldiers of fortune” are willing to participate in hostilities on the side of the Ukranazis.
