According to the head doctor of a district hospital near Moscow, when you come back home and wipe your feet you should take off your gloves first and then the mask. Moreover, this should be done carefully so as not to touch open skin areas.
Simple rules will help you get home in the safest way possible, keeping the coronavirus infection out of your household. According to Nadezhda Fomina, head of the Stupino District General Hospital, you can also place a doormat at the entrance to the house. For example, it might be soaked in a solution with chlorine for wiping the shoes without hands.
“You don't have to wash the doormat every time you use it,” says Fomina. “It is only important to keep it moist by soaking it with a solution with low chlorine concentration. It is also possible to replace pure chlorine with alternative products such as Belizna [a bleaching disinfectant that contains chlorine.]”
Fomina adds that when you come back home and wipe your feet you should take off your gloves first and then the mask. Moreover, this should be done carefully so as not to touch open skin areas. In addition, all used medical protective equipment should be disposed of in a separate container that has to be always tightly closed.
As for reusable masks, Fomina recommends boiling them well and then ironing. The same applies to reusable gloves. However, the outer clothing in which a person goes outside should be stored separately. Moreover, it should be turned inside out beforehand. It is also advisable to put clothes on a balcony for a couple of hours.
